That's what I cultivate in the leaders who will shape what comes next.
We pick up our phones 150 times a day. We're in back-to-back Zoom calls. Our inboxes never empty. And yet — when was the last time we felt heard, seen or understood by the people we work with, lead, or live alongside?
We are living through a paradox: the most technologically connected era in human history is simultaneously the loneliest. Remote work dissolved the water cooler. Social media replaced conversation with performance. AI is now doing the cognitive work we once bonded over. And leaders are expected to guide their teams through all of it — without any training for the human part.
"We live in the most technologically connected age in the history of civilisation — yet rates of loneliness have doubled since the 1980s. Loneliness is not a personal failing. It is a signal."
"The people who flourish most aren't the most accomplished. They're the most connected. Relationships aren't a reward for a life well lived — they are the life well lived."
Whether you lead a team, build products, or are navigating your own growth — there's a way in that's built for you.
Eight modules. One transformation. For leaders who know the technical skills are handled, and that the human layer is what breaks organisations. Emotional intelligence, psychological safety, and the judgment to lead through ambiguity.
AI can generate. It cannot discern. Whether you're building a pitch deck, a product, or anything complex that needs to land — I'll help you shape the vision, tell the story in the most memorable way, and make it something people actually understand, admire and use.
For leaders and individuals who want a thought partner in their corner long-term. Part strategist, part mirror, part trusted voice. I work with a small number of clients at a time, so the attention is real, not templated.
Book a free 17-min discovery call →I've been in leadership development for twenty years. Sarah is the first facilitator I've seen make a room full of senior engineers actually stop and feel something. She doesn't lecture — she creates conditions where people discover the gap between who they think they are and how they're actually landing. We still talk about that session.
Our team was technically brilliant and emotionally exhausted. We'd been through a reorg, two rounds of layoffs, and everyone had quietly stopped being honest with each other. Sarah came in, read the room in about ten minutes, and spent the next two days rebuilding something I didn't think you could rebuild that fast — actual trust. Six months later, our retention numbers tell the story.
I hired Sarah for 1:1 coaching at a moment when I was seriously questioning whether I wanted to keep leading at all. What she helped me understand — about my own patterns, my blindspots, and the relationships I'd been misreading — changed the trajectory of my career. I'm a better leader and honestly a better person for having worked with her.
Trust, EQ, and human connection are learnable skills — not personality traits. Choose the format that fits where you are right now.
What emotional intelligence actually is — and why it's the most consequential business skill of the next decade. The neuroscience, the evidence, and how to start building it today.
The gap between who you think you are and how others experience you. How high-achievers develop dangerous blindspots — and the practices that close them before they cost you.
How to make it genuinely safe to be honest. The difference between teams that perform and teams that pretend — and how leaders unknowingly create silence, and how to dismantle it.
How to build cultures that learn instead of hide. Why the most dangerous phrase in any organisation is "that's not how we do things here" — and how to replace it with genuine curiosity.
The most underrated skill in every boardroom. Why deep listening is a strategic act — not a passive one — and how to use it to disarm defensiveness, unlock creativity, and earn real trust.
Reading the room before the room reads you. The practice of actively seeking views different from your own — and how it makes you a sharper thinker, a more trusted leader, and a more connected human.
Turning friction into forward momentum. Why conflict-averse cultures are the most dysfunctional ones — and how to use disagreement as a tool for deeper alignment and stronger relationships.
Staying connected to yourself when the stakes are highest. How to lead with presence during uncertainty and disruption — and why the leaders who can do this become the ones no team ever wants to leave.
Each engagement starts the same way — with a real human conversation.
One high-impact session on the human skill your team needs most right now. Not a workshop that gets forgotten. A shift people feel on the walk back to their desks.
A full leadership experience built on EQ science, trust design, and the Harvard happiness research. For teams ready to do the work that actually changes how they lead — not just how they manage.
The complete programme plus 1:1 coaching, an organisational integration session, and a 90-day roadmap. For leaders who want to build something in themselves that outlasts any role or market cycle.
For individuals navigating uncertainty, difficult relationships, or leadership transitions. Every engagement begins with a complimentary 17-minute discovery call — no agenda, no pitch. Just a conversation.
Most complex ideas fail not because they're wrong — but because they're invisible. The pitch that loses the room. The product that confuses instead of delights. The deck that almost lands.
The gap between what you know and what people understand is where I work.
Everyone now has access to the same AI tools. The same templates, the same generated decks, the same design systems. The result? Everything looks competent. Nothing feels alive.
What separates work that is used from work that is remembered isn't more information — it's a sharper frame. The judgment to know what's off before anyone can articulate why. The story that makes the complex feel inevitable.
A RISD-trained eye, a decade of human-centered design leadership, and a lifetime of translating hard things into ideas people actually understand, value and use. I work at the intersection of design, narrative, and human psychology — because the best communication isn't just clear, it is believed.
It makes people lean in, trust faster, and remember longer. That's the skill — and it can be built.
For a specific piece of work that needs to land — a pitch, a product narrative, an investor deck, a complex idea. We find the story, shape the frame, and make it something people understand, admire and use.
For teams who want to build the communication muscle from the inside out. Not just one good deck — a way of thinking. How to turn complexity into clarity, every time, as a team.
Ongoing thought partnership for founders and executives building something that needs to be seen. Part designer, part editor, part strategist. Real attention — not templated feedback.
"The goal isn't simplicity for its own sake. It's precision — saying exactly what matters, in a way that stays."

I have spent 15+ years exploring one question:
can we design trust and belonging?
The answer is a resounding yes!
Born in Pakistan, raised in an adopted home, and having lived across five countries — I was quietly studying belonging, not academically, just out of necessity. What is home? What makes someone feel safe and accepted?
That question followed me everywhere and became my thesis topic at RISD (Rhode Island School of Design): "Home is where my clothes are | Can trust be designed?" It continued through founding a social enterprise for refugee children, scaling a fintech to 38 states, becoming an EQ evangelist at AWS, and leading large-scale community building as President of Asians at Amazon. I hosted everything from community programs to Driveway Dinners for my neighbours.
That's how my startup Mayz was born.
"the Airbnb for human connection."
Along the way, I've cultivated a remarkable network spanning Fulbright, Acumen Fund, LGT Venture Philanthropy, Silicon Valley Business Journal 40 Under 40, and most recently the Presidential Leadership Scholars Program. If I had to distil everything I've lived and learned into a single idea, I'd borrow Shannon L. Alder's words:
"One of the most important things you can do on this earth is to let people know they are not alone."
My commitment to you is to share the very best of what I'm living and learning — with honesty, not perfection. Expect thought-provoking ideas, my love for flea markets and the future, stories about my dog Professor Dumbledore, and an unwavering belief that you have the capacity to live a more expansive, expressive, and meaningful life.
"We are all just trying to find our way home."
If you've read this far — thank you. I hope this is just the beginning of a relationship that lasts. I'd love to learn more about you.
In Urdu, Mayz means "table" — and that's the simplest way to describe what I'm building. A place to gather without agendas, without performance, around a shared meal.
"the Airbnb for human connection."
We are the most connected generation in history. Yet a silent loneliness epidemic is spreading across every generation — because somewhere along the way, we forgot how to truly be together.
As AI absorbs more of our cognitive work, our greatest advantage becomes the one thing it cannot replicate: the belonging that comes from genuine human connection.
Twenty years from now, the deepest divide won't be digital. It will be relational — between those who know how to build real connection, trust, and community, and those who don't.
This is why I am building Mayz — to bring us all back to the table, before we forget how.
Join me. Let's build a more connected, more human world, together.

Ideas on trust, connection, and what it means to lead with humanity in the age of AI. Written for people who think deeply about how they show up.
Better relationships. A team that trusts you. The confidence to lead through uncertainty. A life that feels more connected and more purposeful —
not despite the AI era, but because you chose to go deeper into your humanity while everyone else went wider into their tools.
That's what working together gives you. It starts with one conversation.
